Adult Coloring Programs


An adult coloring program with the theme Spring Is Bustin’ Out All Over! will take place in the library meeting room on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Two 90-minute sessions are offered at 2:30 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m.

Piano instrumental music is on tap for the afternoon session, and the Mission Valley Choral Society Small Ensemble will appear for a set of vocal selections in the evening.   

The Library provides coloring projects of all sizes, along with supplies and refreshments. Or, you may bring your own supplies. Everyone is welcome!



Honorary Life Membership Award


Library Director Marilyn Trosper is the recent recipient of the Montana State Library’s Honorary Life Membership Award.

Marilyn was nominated by the North Lake County Public Library staff, and received the honor at the Montana Library Association’s annual conference in Billings on March 30th, 2017.

Assistant Director Abbi Dooley presented the award, noting that Marilyn is passionate about her career and is widely respected by her colleagues statewide.

The honor is awarded each year to a Montana librarian who has made an outstanding contribution to librarianship or who has rendered outstanding service to library interests.

Family Summer Reading Program

North Lake County Public Library invites you to

the 2017 Family Summer Reading Program:

“Build a Better World!”

June 12* — August 12**

How The Program Works :

SIGN UP!  Any person of any age who reads or is read to may sign up. Register for the program during regular library hours, beginning Monday, June 12 at 10:00 AM and ending at 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 12. To register, stop by the library or follow the link (coming soon!) on this website to fill out a form with your name, address, phone number and age. You’ll receive your Reading Record.


READ!  Your Reading Record helps you to keep track of time spent reading or listening to someone read to you. (Children and youth must find an adult to sign for them.)

COME BACK!  After you’ve completed 4 or more hours of reading, bring your signed Reading Record to the library in order to receive a reading incentive and enter the prize drawings.


**Program ends Saturday  August 12 at 4:00 PM.  Prizes will be drawn and awarded the following Thursday,  August 18, at 10:00 AM.

OUR BIG SPLASH RETURNS!  And this year it’s better than ever. Finish all 8 levels and 32 hours of reading and join us in the Library Meeting Room on Tuesday, August 15 as we host our finishers’ “Happy Hippo” Excursion

Come and go as you please, engaging with all of the library's Makerspace stations on Mondays from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Stations include Arduinos, Makey Makeys and Squishy Circuits, sewing, sticker-making and duct tape crafts, painting and more! Best of all, the LEGOs and LEGO table are here for everyone to enjoy!

Youth Writing Club

12- to 18-year-olds are invited to join Kendra, the library's Youth Services Librarian, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays to celebrate and hone the craft of writing. Check in with Kendra for more information!

Story Time & Mother Goose Time

Story Time for children ages 3-5 and their caregivers has paused for the summer, and will resume in the fall.

Mother Goose Time for infants and toddlers will continue on Mondays at 10 a.m. through the summer. Everyone is welcome.
