In response to a public survey, the library will stay open until 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, beginning January 3 through the end of May. This change is intended to better serve the public, particularly students who may need library resources for homework.
Friday and Saturday hours will remain the same: 11 – 6 on Friday, and 11 – 4 on Saturdays. The library is closed on Sundays and holidays.
During last spring’s campaign to establish a library district, one frequent request from the public was to increase library hours. Since the successful vote in July when the district was formed, the library has been positioning itself to honor those requests. The Board of Trustees approved the new hours at its October Board meeting.
The library will continue to open at 11 a.m. Monday through Friday, unless there is an advertised children’s program. On those days, the doors open at 10 a.m.
For questions, call the circulation desk at 883-8225 or stop by the library at #2 First Avenue East in Polson.
