Minds Matter: Movies and Discussion on Mental Health

 

NAMI Mission Valley (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and North Lake County Public Library in Polson will present a film/discussion series called MINDS MATTER during the month of October. The events are free and open to the public.

 

Two popular movies portraying an aspect of mental illness will be shown in the library meeting room at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 27. Following the film, a mental health professional will lead a discussion. Refreshments will be served.

 

The schedule is as follows:

 

Monday, October 19: The film Love & Mercy will be shown, with Julie Frederick, MCMHC, of the Sunburst Mental Health Services facilitating the discussion.

 

Tuesday, October 27:The King’s Speech will be featured. Discussion will be led by Julie Fleck, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Sonya Milheim, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, both of Sunburst Mental Health Services.
