Little Free Libraries Need Locations/Caretakers

North Lake County Public Library in Polson is looking for dedicated caretakers and suitable locations for two Little Free Libraries.

Little Free Libraries are freestanding outdoor boxes that house a small number of books on the “take a book, leave a book” concept. The available units have been creatively hand painted by local artists Mike and Edna Lemm and are on display at North Lake County Public Library. Anyone interested and willing to follow the outlined parameters may pick up an application form at the circulation desk. The application deadline is May 15th.

Locations must be within the Polson High School District #23 boundaries but outside the city limits of Polson.  Considerations include landowner permission, legal access, and the avoidance of underground utilities when placing the needed posts in the ground. Caretakers must be committed individuals who are willing to monitor an assigned Little Free Library. North Lake County Public Library will act as a partner in supplying reading materials. There will be a short informational training session for those applicants chosen.

Please call the library at 406-883-8225 for more information.
